Family, Friends, Fun..... and Focus......  2012

I am constantly challenged in the balance of time in my life. 

As an artist we tend to hyper focus, as I have grown, I have learned to make time for other things along with my art. The result is a full week of balancing Family, Friends, and Fun time along with my making my art work. I think the hardest part is going from one thing to another and still getting a full focus jump back in to my work at any given moment. I am learning to balance it all much better now.  Happy 2012

More Snow Really??

It seems that winter will never end!
It looks like a winter wonderland outside right now.
Good thing I have pottery to keep me busy!

Beautiful Brown Butterfly Porcelain Pendant Necklace

Last Spring, in the late afternoon, everywhere I looked plants were brown and dry from the long Winter. Suddenly, movement caught my eye. A small brown butterfly was stretching its wings in the Michigan sunlight. I wanted to capture this moment of hope, and immediately returned to my studio to craft the beautiful brown butterfly pendant you see here. After the firing process I created this beautiful necklace. My Nest ring dishes

I was taking a walk in the warm, Spring sunshine, when I came across a robin's nest, that was hidden snugly in the branches of a tree. I decided to take a peek in the nest, and found three beautiful speckled blue eggs. I was inspired by the sight and went to the studio to create the beautiful nest ring dish you see here.

Baking and Pottery

I never really thought my baking and pottery was in any way related till tonight, I was filling the kiln and taking my pie out of the oven.... :) And it hit me, hmm my Apple pear pie and Leaf soap dishes look related! My husband says as long as I don't get the two mixed up we will be ok :)
My reply was a Oh, little Mud won't hurt ya!
